Our Home is not a place,

.....it is People, actually a very large circle of friends. We call them our GREEN CIRCLE.

This definition not only refers to our residents or the people who work here, but actually more so to all those individuals who in the past as well as those who do this day, have distinguished themselves in displaying a perplexity and concern for the destiny of our aged. People who have come to realize that a life lived to help the less fortunate is the only one that matters, that it is the highest and best use we can have as humans.

Together they have formed this circle of care and protection around the walls of this home. They are in fact the bricks that make up our walls, walls cemented by deeds of kindness and painted with foresight and direction. They are to be found in the communities of this district and amongst the next of kin of residents and former residents which is why by right they may claim this to be THEIR HOME.

For the past four decades the foundations of this home was built on sound principles at the core of which was a very sincere philosophy being to simply deliver higher standards than any other home in our field, and .... to keep on doing it. It was realized that greatness has never been achieved without potential, however that it was important to understand that the actual secret existed in its execution. Beyond the raw talent you need the appropriate training. You require the discipline and you need the inspiration. You also need the drive, but more important still, you need the recognition of your social responsibilities.

Unlike the common believe the grass is not, in fact, always greener on the other side of the fence. Fences have nothing to do with it. The grass is simply greener where it is watered. It therefore goes without saying that when crossing fences we have to carry water with us to enable us to tend to the grass wherever we may find ourselves.

Green means growth which is what is required to keep our foundations strong. What we require are people with the quailities described above. Friends who wish to produce this very special facility for posterity.

Creating awareness for this is therefore of the utmost importance for everyone in this community and beyond. This home is a local treasure that will not be replaced by governments of the future, nor will they ensure its survival by way of maintenance or any other means, simply because priorities of the past have changed forever.

Where other Badisa homes are facing a continuous uphill struggle to make ends meet and to perform much needed maintenance we managed to excel to new heigths. This only re-emphasises as well as justifies the necessity for each and everyone who one day may require a facility such as this, to raise a consciousness for social responsibilities and to join our green circle without delay.

To initiate this move it is imperative that we create awareness of the fact that this home is a registered non profitable organization signifying that all donations are tax deductable, qualify for a tax rebate receipt (18A) and can be claimed as a deduction against taxable income. The average South African now pays twice as much in taxes as he formerly received in wages. It is thus a valid statement to argue that the avoidance of taxes is the only intellectual pursuit that carries any reward and investing in your community for the sake of the survival of a much needed facility is one very clever way of doing just that.

Acceptance of this consept is such an important commodity that it may well be called "the first law in personal growth" We invite everyone to make it your desire to belong to our circle and never lose it. "Desires are the stimulants to creativeness, to love and to a long life" So go on, influence those around you and become involved. Every day brings a chance for you to draw a breath, kick off your shoes and dance.

We dare you, join in and have some fun! 😀
